The short version
- The website sets no cookies and loads no advertising or tracking scripts; page-speed measurement and error reports are anonymous.
- Joining the waitlist stores your email address, an optional name and your consent, privately, until you ask us to remove them.
- The studio keeps your projects and media in your own browser. We do not receive them unless you sign in and choose to back a film up to your private cloud folder.
- When you connect an AI provider, your prompts and reference media go to that provider for the request you make. We do not store your credentials or your results.
- The companion app works on your device without an account and sends nothing to us.
Who we are
Adastra Studios operates the moviefactory.ai website, the browser studio at moviefactory.ai/studio, the waitlist API and the moviefactory.ai companion app. Adastra Studios is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything in this policy, write to support@adastrastudios.com.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel receives the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, and keeps them briefly in server logs for the security and operation of the service. We do not add cookies, tracking pixels, advertising or analytics scripts, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Fonts, images, video and scripts are served from moviefactory.ai itself rather than from third-party servers, so viewing a page does not contact anyone else. The pages load Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how fast they load and reports the timings without cookies or identifiers. If we add aggregate, cookieless page-view counting in the future, this policy will say so before it is switched on.
The early-access waitlist
When you join the waitlist we store the email address you enter, an optional name, the version of the consent text you agreed to, the time of the signup and which site you signed up from. We use this only to contact you about moviefactory.ai early access. When you join we send one confirmation email, which carries a link that removes your address; joining again does not send another. We do not sell your details, share them with advertisers or use them for anything else. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Signups are kept in a private storage area of our hosting account that the website cannot read back. To protect the form against abuse we count submissions per network address for ten minutes, using a hashed, time-bucketed value that cannot be turned back into your address and that expires after the window. A second signup with the same address keeps the original entry.
We keep waitlist entries until the early-access programme ends or you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first. To be removed, email support@adastrastudios.com from the address you signed up with.
Using the studio
Projects, screenplays, images, video and audio you add in the studio are stored in your browser on your device, using its local storage and IndexedDB. They are not uploaded to us, and clearing your browser data deletes them. Project backups are files you choose to save; they are never sent to us. The studio can install as a web app and caches its own code in your browser so it loads quickly; that cache holds no personal data.
Generation happens with providers you connect yourself, such as OpenAI, Runway, Higgsfield, ElevenLabs or your own ComfyUI server. When you make a request, the studio sends your prompt, the relevant reference images or clips and your provider credential through our API to that provider, and returns the result to your browser. Credentials are held in your browser session’s memory only, are never written to storage on our side or yours, and are gone when you reload or close the tab. Our API keeps no copies of prompts, media, credentials or results; the hosting platform may record technical errors without their content. Requests to ComfyUI go directly from your browser to your server.
Each provider processes your content under its own terms and privacy policy and may charge your account for the request. To protect the API we count requests per network address for a short window; those counters are not kept afterwards.
If a page or the studio hits a script error, your browser sends us a short anonymous report so we can fix it: the error message, the code location, the page path, the build number and the browser type. Anything that looks like an address or a key is removed before the report is stored, and it never includes your projects, prompts, media, credentials or anything about you. The studio’s privacy settings can switch these reports off in your browser.
Accounts and cloud backups (optional)
If the studio offers cloud backups, you can sign in with an email link and keep copies of your films in a private folder that only your account can read. Signing in stores your email address and sign-in times with our authentication and storage provider, Supabase, which processes them on our behalf. A backup contains the film’s script, settings and, when it fits the size limit, its embedded media; nothing is backed up unless you choose it, and you can remove any backup from the project chooser at any time.
Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest and are never used for anything other than restoring your films. To delete your account and everything in it, write to support@adastrastudios.com.
The companion app for iPhone and iPad
moviefactory.ai for iPhone and iPad plans productions, records or imports footage, edits and exports on the device. It needs no account and contains no advertising, tracking or analytics SDK. Camera and microphone access is used only to record takes, and Photos and Files access only reaches the items you pick. Project notes may be included in your device backup, while recorded and imported media is kept out of it.
The handoff to the studio is a file the app prepares when you ask for it. You choose where to save or share it, and importing it in the studio keeps it in your browser. Nothing is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes its data; copies you shared elsewhere stay where you put them.
Children
moviefactory.ai is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will remove the entry.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the only personal data we keep is your waitlist entry, this is usually a matter of removing it. Email support@adastrastudios.com and we will answer within a month. If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security and international transfers
Everything is served over HTTPS. Waitlist entries live in private storage that is not reachable from the website, and we store neither credentials nor your content. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep the amount of data we hold as small as possible. Our hosting provider operates in the United States and other countries, so a waitlist entry may be processed outside your own country under that provider’s contractual safeguards.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new effective date at the top. Questions and requests go to support@adastrastudios.com. The terms of use and the support page complete this policy.
